TEMPO Mission Statement

TEMPO (Through Education and Entrepreneurship Music Provides Opportunity) recognizes a great void between young people and their ability to build careers as artist entrepreneurs or music industry professionals.

Working closely with students, at-risk youth, aboriginal communities and high schools across Ontario, our mission, through education, is to bridge this gap via experiential business learning and music mentoring that is inclusive, accessible and available at no cost to students, schools and communities.

TEMPO Testimonials

This course helped me realize what I’d like to do with my life and showed me a realistic way of following my passion: I’m now student at Ryerson University taking the ‘Creative Industries’ program which integrates art and business, just like ‘The Music Business’ course.

Christine Alfred, Student, Night School

Any time students are involved with special events and projects like RezFest, they’re going to be taking away essential skills that can be transferred into any kind of work environment as well as their daily lives.

Duke Peltier, Chief, Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve

It’s total 21st century learning with hands-on involvement, and a great eye-opening experience for students who think they know a lot about the music business, but quickly learn there’s much more to it.

Paul Adams, Vice Principal, Blessed Pope John Paul II

Taking this music program, it really helped me open up my creative side and it helped me be more confident in myself in performing and in general so I’m not so shy anymore. It helped me a lot.

Moirah Shawana, Student, Wasse Abin High School

This was an amazing experience. This class has given me the motivation and the confidence to go out and pursue a music career on my own now having the knowledge to do so.

Christian Nolan, Student, Night School

By delivering the course in a unique and functioning business environment, students are able to create, collaborate, contribute and learn music, business and life skills in a real-world setting.

George Brasovan, Teacher, The Music Business Experience

The course drastically changed my life, my future, and helped me to find out who I really am. I know who I want to be, what my goals in life are and I have some plans for after high school.

Lester Ruiz, Student, Summer School
